The last time was 4 weeks ago, sent 300 bucks sin and pay additional 10 buck for the transfer.It take abt 10 ins and the other party can receive the money. Seem there is a promotion on.

Almost all provinces and small villages in Vietnam has a Western union agent. Western union may charge higher fees but it delivers fast and efficient services. I always use Western union to send money to my in-laws as i do not wish to meet them when i go on my frequent vietnam trips.. heheheh) 15 mins and the other money hungry person in Vietnam can receive it easily.

Well said bro...However I just gave S$2k to my mother-in-law (dowry) before she went back, with the condition that she's not to ask $$ from us within 6 mths. This is because we explained to her that we wanted to start our own family n thus not possible to remit $$ every month.

The person charge:
$10 for every $100. (but she charge me $5)
$20 for every $500.
My g/f will get money from her friend mum in vn.
Kind of a small business for them...

sometimes can just pass the money to yr g/f's friend who are currently in S'pore and yr g/f can meet her at the airport at vn when her friend is going back and it is foc.

Of course there are many ways to send / remit money to vietnam. The main thing is that the channel of remittance must be trustworthy. Saw a report on their business magazine the other day while i was in HCMC, the amount of remittance from overseas vietnamese back to Vietnam was US$3 billion for first 9 months of this year. So this year, its expected that remittance from overseas vietnamese will exceed the US$3 billion mark. Thanks to all the overseas vietnamese, the local vietnamese can seat at the cafe all day and waste their life away

(btw, your gf or spouse in singapore is considered overseas vietnamese also )
