Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
Can bring your dates there...
The restaurant might be new but the Head Chef also the Owner of the restaurant cafe, Ton That Vinh is a familiar face. Used to work in top restaurant in Sydney as well as Bobby Chinn Hanoi, Shri Lounge and An Lam Saigon River, after 15 years working from the scratch, Vinh is excited to present his own self restaurant café in Vietnam opening since September 2013. Located in a small villa in an alley connecting Dien Bien Phu and Hai Ba Trung street, Dine Viva is simple in terms of décor but mostly to create a warm cozy ambience with different spaces, suitable for groups from 4 up to 50 pax, instead the head chef concentrates mainly on food quality, hoping to add a touch of fine dining to a comfortable environment to the customers. All day serving from breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, Dine Viva menu is a combination of authentic Western food using different local ingredients to introduce the chef’s true talent. The dishes at Viva’s once again emphasizes on quality than quantity. Every meal’s menu presents around 10 dishes in order not to confuse the guests. If you love a Western breakfast, Viva’s menu will please you from the homemade bread and jam to the traditional eggs as well as beautifully presented pancakes. If you must, try his scramble egg, one of his signature dishes. It is a simple dish yet delicate enough that not just any chef can make it good. Chef Vinh makes it perfect. For lunch, Dine Viva offers simple dishes such as salads, pastas and melts which Cajun chicken salad, pesto pasta, Thai chicken melt are the outstanding dishes among the menu. And don’t forget the healthy non-fat no sugar added smoothies from the bar. After 6pm, the setup becomes classy and elegant with all the lights, table setting and of course, with the fine dining courses. Dinner menu is more fine dining and luxury with pan-seared foie gras, duck breast, scallop or braised lamb chop, the cuisines made by Chef Vinh during his experience in Sydney. What’s good for dinner? It’s hard to choose from, however, pan-seared foie gras served with star fruit receives the highest votes. The light sour taste of star fruit will balance the fat delicious of the foie gras. Dine Viva also offers the perfect place for a chic afternoon tea including 2 tea and cake packages for 2 and 4 persons in a green and peaceful area. Mentioning sweets, it could be guaranteed that no one can ignore the restaurant café’s irresistible desserts such as flan caramel or panna cotta, Chef’s heavenly treats. With great location in the town center and parking lot nearby, Dine Viva offers private spaces just enough for any occasion from meetings to datings. You can never get bored with Dine Viva, especially with the frequently updated menu. In this opening, Dine Viva will give a 10% discount for all bills and exclusively 15% for groups from 4 to 10 pax (Applied for food orders only). Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
If you crave for german sausage ...
Many visitors going to the backpackers’ area of Ho Chi Minh City often see a tall, big Western guy selling sausage and bread on the pavement. He usually wears a red-framed eyeglasses and a white T-shirt, and stands behind a cart all night every day. >> Ho Chi Minh City backpackers’ town He is Michael Semling, 48, from a small town near Frankfurt, Germany. Though he is not the only foreigner running a business in the area, many people may be surprised by his business philosophy. Sending staff on overseas training course “He sent me on a six-month bread baking training course in Malaysia. It cost more than VND200 million (roughly US$10,000). He paid half and my family paid half” – Kim Ngan said about her boss. The Tien Giang-born woman, 26, who got an international bread baking certificate, expressed her gratitude to her boss and said that she dreams of opening her own western bakery in the future. Regarding the investment, Michael said he has no demands of Ngan. “Of course, I thought a lot about what she will do for me later. But (above all), I still want her to study how to make western cakes so that she will do my job as I do something else in the future,” he said. When asked if the investment is risky or not, Michael responded: “If you want to make profit, you have to invest first. If you don’t invest in your staff, how can they improve their skills?” Michael told Tuoi Tre that he is lucky to have hired two resourceful Vietnamese staffers, Ngan and Kim, thanks to the recommendation of his friends. The German admits that it is difficult to find good employees, and it is even more difficult for foreigners like him. Michael shared that he has earned profits from the shop after running it for three months. “Nothing is for free in Vietnam. You can invest in your shop in one, two, or three months. But if you do not make profit, it does not make sense to continue your business,” he said. Michael promotes his shop in a very simple way. He, Ngan and Kim wear white T-shirts with the German national flag, Brezel (a type of German traditional bread), and a phone number for delivery printed on them. He puts the price list, with prices ranging from VND10,000 to VND28,000 per item, in front of his bakery. Introducing German cuisine Michael first came to Vietnam as a tourist in 1998. The backpackers’ area at that time was not very busy or crowded like it is today. In 2009, he left Germany to settle in Vietnam. During his first years here he opened a coffee shop with several friends, but it was not a success. This past May he opened his first sausage shop in the backpackers’ area, since he has been a professional baker for the past 30 years. He rented a small area in front of an art gallery on Bui Vien Street near roadside stalls selling Vietnamese fresh, brewed beer, which he pays around USD$200 a month for. “I encountered many difficulties at first because there were many things to do, such as finding a right location, and dealing with the owner over the renting price. It was not easy!”, Michael recalled. Michael said he has to get up early to prepare bread and sausage for the shop. “Some ingredients I buy here but some ingredients I have to import from my hometown to ensure the quality of my food.” He decided to open his bakery in the backpackers’ area because there are many potential customers from many countries. But Michael said his target customers are Vietnamese and expatriates living in HCMC. “The tourists come and go. I have to find new costumers every day. So far, 50 percent of my customers are Vietnamese who want to taste German sausage,” he said. Quang, a regular local customer, said Michael is nice and always takes care of his food. Quang added that he learns a lot from Michael because the German runs a business and leads a happy life in Vietnam even though he cannot speak local language. To his Vietnamese staff, Michael is a strict but kind boss. “He treats us very well. He gives us bonuses and treats us to a feast at the end of every month,” Ngan said. Michael said he hopes to open a bigger bakery in District 2 to provide locals with more types of German bread. “I would like to introduce German cuisine and culture to Vietnamese people,” he shared. At around 1 am, when most of us are sleeping, Michael drank a bottle of Saigon Red Label beer. He cleaned his bakery and then pushed the cart towards his small rented room where, he is living with a dream of opening more bakeries in Vietnam.

Field Report: Massage Near Song Than IZ
Found myself out near an industrial zone again, gone off work late so decide to explore the area before heading back to HCMC by motorbike. Found a massage in a neighborhood with many IZ workers, entry fee 150.000vnd, and was led to a room by the young boy there. Usual conversation starts while he turns on the a/c and steam room: Boy: Do you have any lady request? Me: Don't know anyone. You choose for me. Someone young and pretty. But this time boy just chuckles nervously. He doesn't seem to understand that this is a way to get a tip from me! So i let him go off without any further discussion. Anyway, while steaming, girl walks in. Short, slightly chubby but not fat, big chest and cute face. Acceptable as quality of girls aren't as high outside the city. As I steam and shower, electricity was going off and on! I was freezing, so she rushed my shower. Started conversation with her: Name: Thu, she's 26, single, don't want bf, place has 6 workers, started working here for 3 days but worked elsewhere before, blah blah Usual regular massage but this one is butt naked, no shorts as usual. after a while she ask me any where else sore that she can massage. I wasn't sure if this was code word for hj/bj, so i pointed at little brother and grinned, saying, "thu gian" ("relax", code for hj/bj). she responded, "haha, we can go straight to that, but if you finish early then massage if over. or you can have more massage and i can do that later." "No worries, i last a long time, lets start", i replied. "Just kill me now, haha," she answer while starting hj/bbbj. This place was quite different though, she started while laying on the massage table with me. i've only been to one other place where they laid on the table with you. good start. she does her thing, nothing amazing, after a while she commented i really do last a long time. i told her to lay there with me as i finger her (Very tight shorts, even she complained and taught me how to get better access if i stick my hand in a certain way, haha) and play/suck her tits. finally finish, tip her 300k. on my way back to hcmc. |

Raid , you don't know place come also waste time. Links are probably for reference , you are suppose to check it out yourself . Else just pay one of the fellows here . After reading 100 pages you don't know ? Cannot be right? There is enough info here for you to do a research on the places. It doesn't tally if you claim you read and yet don't do research . Since you already decided on getting the bellboy to arrange you are already taking a gamble , if you don't want to gamble don't waste your time to come . Don't know , don't do research , wanna be lazy yet wanna kpkb and complain . It is people like you that make some people think lowly of us sinkies. |
