I enjoy the atmosphere, especially since I am on good terms with the manager of the joint I frequent. Unfortunately, I am just a salaried man with a family to feed, unlike those 大老板 who dump RMB like nobody's business. I probably go once or twice a month.

If any of you pops by Shanghai and are interested in drinks, let me know. I am a person who likes to meet new people all the time.

Which part of Shanghai r u in?PuDong or Puxi? I knew that most of the HFJ are in Xiaman, this is the first time I heard in Shanghai.

There are actually plenty of 花场 (the term that the singers and managers themselves use in private) in Shanghai. They mostly come under the nomenclature of 演艺厅.

By Puxi, I believe you refer to the city area west of the river (which is what most foreigners think of), rather than all of Shanghai west of the river (which is what locals think of). So, by the expatriate definition, I am not in Puxi, but rather in Minhang.

All the hfj I frequented have been in Puxi (local definition!), away from the city, in the suburban areas.

Got 3 levels. Basement is now for duck lovers, male singers there. Level 1 is pub concept where customers get to sing. Got a few female singers. Level 2 is the hfj for female singers with abt 30 of them there. Cheers.

sounds good, I am frequently in shanghai, never saw a HFJ there, thought shanghai is rather full of Chinese (most stunners), Taiwan-style(most happening) and Japanese KTV (best value for money). Well, I ignore the dirty 3 star places, which are cheaper than then the Japanese places but the quality of gals cannot make it. Anyway, Chinese clubs are not bad ever, either for getting a FOC ONS or just "rent" a dancer. I mean, even going out alone, spending 2000 RMB I can get drinks, entertainment and a gal overnight, so I am curious what HFJ can offer...

Btw, as for Singapore, I am now frequently at kleopatra at midlink plaza. The quality of gals is really good. They have around 40-50 singers around, so your gal will probably sing only 2-3 times anyways.

Last thing: anybody else going frequently to shanghai? I am eager to share some hangout places, hehe

You are a big spender, unlike me, a budget person with a family to take care of here, on a tiny expatriate package (and a salary on a depreciating USD!).

I am not too sure how far you can go with a hfj, because I am there to enjoy the atmosphere, and having some ladies to chat with - no sex for me. I suppose, for some (one of my friends claim it's not "some" but "many") of these singers, when you become a regular customer, anything is possible, including getting them as mistresses.

One of these days, when you pop by, I can take you to the hfj I frequent, and we can go to a ktv you frequent (as long as the latter is within my budget!).

Well, the given example is for full package, which doesn't apply for daily use...was meant to show the difference to upscaled Chinese Ktv where nowadays the ladies start their negotation at 2000 rmb for overnight. So, personally I find, Japanese Ktv offer more value, perhaps due to the reason that most Japanese expats go there every weekday. The usual damage, leaving special night activities aside and considering 2 people share a bottle, is around 700 rmb. Additionally, in Japanese snacks (lounge concept, hence open space) the girls don't receive tipps.

Short update on some of my usual HFJ.

Since GeGe and TianTian left, pretty star in carpenter street is pretty dead, was there recently, there was a new 17 years old singer with her mum...WTF...is this going to be be family karaoke?

Adelphi basement is dead, all the cute singers left to cleopatra in midlink plaza, that's now definitely my HFJ no 1, although banner starts with 100... 50 is only a bunch of plastic flower, haha...but they have a lot of singers, so the girls will be on stage max 3 times during evening.

Sometime I wonder by hanging some much money to buy the "heart" of these prc singers and of course at the end of the day these singers becoming your part time mistress, have we not thought that spending that 1 k or more we can have more choices and different partners. We all know the ending is likely to be of nothing. So why throw these money. True if I have hit a big Toto jackpot then who cares if I am a carrot head as long as I can afford. But to the average or a little more than average people......hanging 1k or more for a singer to make her happy........hmmm I will not.
I been to Aldelphi two times and some singers looks ok to my taste but its the $$$ that makes me scare to go. BTW, anyone knows who are the "ang pai" girls there? Maybe going for the not "ang pai" could be cheaper.

I went to Century 21 for a drink last night. The lao ma (old mother) told me she still remember Dayview2004 aka James Tan as an ugly old man that often went there to drink & hang flowers on credits. In the end, Dayview2004 never paid the money he owed to the club and he never stepped into the Century 21 again

Then his PRC singer never received the money Dayview2004 hanged on her while she "do show" the club managers & singer got screwed by Dayview2004.

And this is how Dayview2004 claimed the PRC singers give him ECA in Hotel 81 free because he tricked them into believing that he is a loaded old man

Small pokey joint along Jalan besar....between the scissors curry rice and new world hfj. Once inside.....the feeling is like 金巴黎. Serves Foster beer which taste like piss..... bleah

Only 2 pretty singers to mention. One of them was a tall leggy pretty SYT with really exotic looks. Was told she got some russian blood in her. So unusual to find such a good looker in such a run down joint. She was busy with another group of customers so didn't get her to sit with me. Well if you visit the joint, you can't miss her.

Sat with the other pretty one...... shorter but volupteous. Only 20yrs old....but look more matured than her age. Chatty girl...good company. Asked me to go clubbing after work.....fun loving energetic chick. Younger bros can go for her......me too old for such hyper type....huh huh
