Sorry before I get to caught up with reflection let me try to explain the Long/Short strategy. I was baiting for anyone who is from the hedge fund management world. The L/S is an equity play for someone who can accurately predict the market, or simply wants to reduce market risk. For example, the manager can LONG $1M SIA and SHORT $1M Cathay Pacific if he believes that SIA will become profitable and Cathay Pacific will not. How do we apply this strategy in our forum? Haiz......everytime I read your new post I may have to dig out all my dicktioneries and spend 1 day pondering what is the gist of your message, so much so that I may have to come back tomorrow with a proper reply.....

I'm quite short sighted so the nearest within my limited gaze is Long time or Short time nia nia......

I was telling 1 kaki of mine recently (he know who is he hor if he happens to be reading this....) about the pyramid syndrome, normally if 1 person share with only 2 or 3 persons he will say nevermind lah it is only 2 or 3 persons what harm can it get, but he forgotten that 2 or 3 persons will share with another 2 or 3 persons EACH, and then the multiplier effect goes on like a big Ponzi or pyramid scheme......think everybody get the picture

I am definitely not against sharing as or else how could we find out new joints (other than directly exploring it ourselves as we do it all the time) but more on careful "selective" sharing instead of exposing it out openly on the WWW, it is guaranteed either to kill off the joint in no time, or that prices will go up exponentially & availability goes south due to over-popularity

Just last month we went to one regular joint of ours (only opened for 1 year plus) as we had not been there for about 3 months then we practically had to wait at the lobby for more than 1 hour for the room to be available and that is when we had already made a prior reservation

Somebody tried to tell me before in the past when we were in a KTV, he said jokingly to me "aiyah we are just taking taxi nia nia and not buying a car, why so choosy leh???" Then I told him jokingly back "you mean take taxi cannot choose meh??? I can choose to take Comfort, take limousine, take 7-seaters...ETC.....if life is without choices then we might as well stay at home wait for death to come as going out will means you need to make choices & decisions all the time

There is a "balance" icon on the top right hand corner of each post, you can click on that icon to either give or deduct points from that person's reputation points

And if you click on your own "User CP" on the left hand corner of the forum page, you can see who gave you the points (hopefully not deducted) provided they had indicated who in their message

Last time you tell me 1 year go 1 time, now change to 6 months go 1 time, few months later tell me 3 months go 1 time liao......

I no more or-gui -nicer for Sinkie a long long time ago liao lah, only maybe for overseas trips nia nia & that only for my regular travelling group only....
