Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Liverpool Football Club have this afternoon confirmed the sale Momo Sissoko to Juventus.
The Mali international is away at the African Nations but took time out for a medical and talks over personal terms.

Sissoko, who arrived from Valencia in July 2005, made 86 appearance for the Reds, scoring one goal.

Liverpoolfc.tv wishes him all the best for the future.

Guys, let's take a moment to remember Sissoko. He was a player who gave 100% while playing for in a no-hold-bar manner for us. That eye injury he sustained while playing for us was unfortunate. He was never quite the same since coming back.

On that count, I wonder what the supporters of clubs like Everton (20 years since they last got crowned English champions), Aston Villa (26 years), Nottingham Forest (29 years), Derby County (32 years), Manchester City (39 years), Ipswich Town (45 years), Tottenham Hotspurs (46 years), etc should be demanding. Mind you ... there are a couple here owned by people with the money to spend too.

Not unlike you, I'm still waiting to hear counter-arguments about how things can be better done ... especially after getting rid of Rafa.
So far, it's been nothing more than guerilla warfare based on "hit-&-run" or "majority wins" tactics.

You can blame it on his eye injury or Marscherano's arrival, but he used to be the only muscle in the team ... half-filling the big void left behind by an aging Hamann.
To convince you, I'll come up with 5 more players who better fit the "one of the worst players to ever don the LFC shirt" label ...
1) Sean Dundee, South African striker ... played only 5 games before he got found wanted
2) Bernard Diomede, French midfielder ... played only 5 games before he got found wanted
3) Mark Kennedy, Irish winger ... played 3 seasons, with almost no games of memorable note
4) El-Hadji Diouf, Senegalese striker ... played 3 seasons, with mostly disciplinary incidents than goals worth remembering
5) Bjorn Tore Kvarme, Norwegian full-back ... fumbled famously against Everton & Scums

If your so-called one-of-the-worst-ever Sissoko can still fetch 8m pounds on the open market, why would 17m pounds be excessive for Mascherano ... who has proven himself to be one of the world's best-skilled ball-winner?
Mensch, Alonso getting compared to Mascherano in the same light ... & deemed equally good some more.

I agree with you fully. Probably the doubts of rotation from the fans gives the players that are being rotated that extra pressure to make the system work and in the end, it affects their normal play and performance.

Just like the final in 2005 against AC Milan. The fans were chanting for Liverpool to win 4-3 rather then just booing them off the field at half time, when they were 3-0 down, as the latter would not have helped at all.

Thus, now is the time to back our team just like what bro rahl have said.

Can't agree more bros. As a person, Momo was top class, and as a ball-winning footballer, pretty good too. I remember his attempts to get forward and support the attack (not always successful) as similar to Carra's days 'bombing' down the right (or left) when he was a wingback. 100%.

bro, yesterday TNP did mentioned there will be no telecast for the mid-week game played this week, due to some nonsense contractual issue, they only got rights to xxx no of game, and it does not include the midweek game played this week,

one thing that can always be expected from Momo is his commitment, always going into tackle, though sometimes abit over the top, and give away abit of free kicks, but he is always there trying to win the ball back, or break down the opposition attack.

but of course, this season he seems to be off the boil, or should say since that eye injury he suffer, his form have not been good, wish him the best for his time in juve.

Bro, I find it sad that top footballers these days are so often seen as expendables who are playing just for the fans' satisfaction. I see Momo struggling in midfield, trying to pass, get forward, trying to be better, and all for what? Some fans will never be happy, will never back him. All the armchair critics. How many of us are in the public limelight and have to do our work in the face of public criticism and even hostility?

Thats why they are paid so well mah, 50 thousand pounds a week, they make more in 1 month than most of us will make in our lifetime. With this kind of $ in british soccer, its no coincidence why the expectations are high as well.

So what? If the wages mislead you, I suppose you are quite easily misled. The players are injured, drop form, fall down, make stupid mistakes - you need any more clue that they are human??

PS. Not saying 'you', but in general.

17 mil pounds is not a big price to pay for a world class midfield player,i think of alonso more of a passer than a defensive midfielder.

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

All along I have been saying I hope Rafa will be given time & backing to see out his visions at Anfield,I still think he is one of the greatest managers we ever have.
Recently he talked about restoring the level of confidence of his players,in fact he's lost it himself. At the moment he is a victim of his own success & his stubbornness will cost his job soonner rather than later.
Not many will question Kuyt's attitude but clearly he has forgotten he is a striker,I feel so sorry for Crouch who has to watch his teammates keep firing blank & he can only sit on the bench.
We lose game, not drawing now, destroy our club first so the Yanks can't get much out from it ? In fact the team has lost confidence, not only Kuyt.
