1) any PR in any country need to reside in the same country for a minimum number of days otherwise PR revoked or loss if 2 years have not been back to Sinkie land...better check with ICA...

Hi guys,
just to share my experience and hopefully can get some guidance.

I have been dating a girl on a student pass for sometime and fell in love.
she is a decent girl from a good family in heilongjiang, and we wanted to commit. (dear concerned brothers, thanks and I am quite sure she did no vice nor crime ever...)

However, she was unable to come back to renew for her student pass for her last semester in Jan as her passport was stolen while she was overseas.
By the time the private school in Singapore helped her to renew her passport, the student pass was rejected. ICA dont give reason for any rejections.
The school also informed me that for this year, there was a large number of rejections for many of their students, even those with last semester. We also applied many social visit passes by March, which were all rejected.


By July (after trip to visit her parents), I applied for ROM notification and gave this reason for social visit pass. And yet it was rejected.
By the time I visited my MP for appeal, I realised I made a grave mistake earlier, by answering "Yes" to a stupid question, which shld be "NO".
(rejection of social visit pass is NOT "yes" to "have u ever been refused entry to singapore....)

So now, I still dont know if this is the reason or what reason for ICA to keep on denying her entry..... its very irritating because it took me 5months just to realised I misunderstood and answered a question wrongly...


I find the lack of reason very difficult for us, even though they may have their reasons why not to give reasons.....

News ruling states that private schools that don't make the grade or standard specifies under MOE will no longer be able to operate unless they merge with other school.

since cannot operates n it still enroll foerign students , it could have been blacklisted ...

i got some updates by calling up the ICA a multiple times recently.

below it's my conversation with some of the officers:

me: i have situation here, my friend got denied entry last week and an officer told her if she can bring along a local friend she will be granted entry... as in i go there and fetch her here... is there such thing? how do i go about it?
officer: huh? i nvr heard of such thing ler...she has to fulfil our rqmnt to come in...[SOP answer]

officer: yea but which country is she from?

me: and i heard from my friend that if she write my address on her DE card, am i acting as her reference or gurantor?
officer: it's just a reference to state where she's going to stay. it must be a valid address or it can be hotel address. we will check. there's no such thing as acting as gurantor at the checkpoint.
me: the main thing i wish to know is will i be liable for anything? bcuz i scared one day she run away from me and i cannot do anything... and what if she break the law?
officer: ermmm... i don't think so. actually u can try to apply for a visit entry for her if u want to but still whatever it is depends on whether she can fulfil the rqmnt to be granted an entry

me: actually she's staying with her sister in sgp, a PR here
officer: is the sister her blood sister or ... actually in vietnam they can call any lady older in their whole kampong as sister u know?
me: ohh... if like this i cannot confirm. it's her blood sister i supposed.can she write my address but she's staying at her sister place?
officer: hahaha....
me: hahahha...
officer:better write where she's staying...
me: ok
officer: how long have u know her? sorry ya if i ask such a question..
me: about 3 months
officer: better know someone enough lor if u scared she might break law here...
me: yea... that's the thing. i just wan to make sure what kind of risk im involved. so again i won't be acting as her gurantor and liable for anything if i just act as her reference with her writing my address on the DE card?
officer: yea i dont think so la...

me: if my friend got denied an entry and she can only be deported soonest the next day, will she need to pay some fine or charges to the ICA? bcuz my gf told me she was required to pay some money.
officer: huh? no la... it's not us. it's the airline...
me: oh so its like a charges bcuz of her accomodation overnight?
officer: yea...


Conclusion:
some officers r quite friendly and they actually try to help and advise us like bro here advise the newbie too! i think they already tons of call inquiring such matter. they know VB is using KC game on sgp men to gain entry i think...

if she wrote the address to be mine, it doesn't mean anything as well. im just acting as her reference, just as bro shysaint said. not liable for anything, according to the officer. And also it's not a requirement for her to be granted an entry to sillypore. so it might not help at all... it's all up to the officers at the checkpoint to decide to let her come in or not.

You have my blessings bro. I heard from a Senior bro before that its actually not gd to keep appealing within a short time frame as all these will be recorded in their system and ICA will just conveniently reject ur VISA application based on the negative records.

I came across a shop (specializing in helping people to apply for visa and appeal - i think its being operated by an ex-ICA officer if i didn't remember wrongly) a few mths ago which is nearby ICA. There's a link bridge leading to Jln Sultan area and its located at the void deck of a HDB block.

if u read my previous sharing ... u will understand why i said continue to appeal ...

maybe just to share again ...

1. my friend's gf was banned from entering sg for 1 year ,, i appealed 3 times n it took me about 5mths plus before the ban was lifted.

2. my wife's friend was banned from entering sg for 1 year, i told her bf to keep appealing, finally ban lifted and she came to rom n now was given ltvp for 1 year.

this is not criminal case where u need to evidence to present to the court to appeal to win a case ...

my approach on this 6 mth thingy means u have to wait till at least 6 mths in order to make an appeal. meaning if banned on jan, probably for better chance, u starting appealing on jun period. high chance to get rejected if u do it on jan itself n will then to advice to do it in 6 mths time.

however , all cases are different n time to appeal n process are different n polucies changes from time to time.

there is nothing to sad about ,,, the only time to be sad is when u do nothing n wait for things to happen.

why pay $$$ to this type of so called specialist ... even if u ask l**y**s to write in , u probably will get the same result

the only difference is better phrasing of the appeal letter , but then the end story is ...u still need to write in n appeal ..

these so called specialist specialist does not give u a special access to ica ... n therefore i dun believe in such specialist.

imagine u appeal 3 times n u got to pay 3 times just to draft the letters ... if u loaded wth $$$ then ok lo ..

1 thing to note , unless you are legally related to that person, ica will NOT reveal anything to you or whoever, even if u are related they might not reveal to you too.

1 standard reply they SURE give ... According to R&R, sections XXX, to prtect the safety of singapore, the ica officer have the rights to exercise his rights based on his discretion to refused his/her entry into sg n etc etc ...

I have many such replies from them when i wrote in for my friends n my wife ... but then never a single reply on my questions asked.

ICA has the right to refuse entry even without evidence of illegal activities.

My friends and I travelled to thailand and he wants to invite a girl he knew there over to SG for holiday for about a week.

Plane tickets even show only a stay of a week. We've seen the girl's passport, knowing it might be difficult to get in recently because she is Thai, never entered Singapore before.

Arrival in Singapore. Denied entry and sent back. She even has cash with her.

I told my friend, see officer mood because of the power they hold to refuse people.

Then again, I might be wrong. Maybe ICA does know something about the girl that we don't.

ASEAN countries cannot deny entry any citizens from each member countries a tourist visa so long as the tourist didn't commit any immiigration offence or being deported before and barred from entry...
