well, got the shock of my life and wondering how do i get out of this. Cut story short. They explain the bill to me very fiercely, unlike when i come in.

1 onz of drink $120 rmb. X 14 drinks..= 1680
Still that does not round up to 6k. I ask the manager come , he came in like a loan shark, shout here and there. Saying play woman already don't want to pay.
WTF...I ask to check the bill again, he told me

one glass
3 onz = 1680 X 3

bloody hell, it taste like green tea to me. WTF, He threaten me if I don;t play, he will call his brothers come and then nothing will be said. Well, after 1/2 hr of bargain,

$5000rmb.


Decided it is not worth calling my local colleagues to help as i don't want to look bad and stupid. Paid up using my visa. Ask for the name card, they say ran out and stupid reason even when i seen name card in the drawer.


Brothers.. try not not be so adventurous. It cost alot of $. A hard lesson learn and realise better be safe , read the forum and go to those safe place.


I'll be back here again next month, hopefully some brothers here can give good guides here and not cheated by those bloody "hei dian"

But guess I have to cut back on alot of things to cover back this lesson.

It's indeed a truly golden sentence here you've said on 'just dun follow the touts....'
Not trying to rub salt into the wound but truly want most bros here, especially the new bros coming here to be more more wary and exercise more cautions in patronising KTVs or HCs....

As mentioned many times here, there have many happy experiences shared hered here with all bros by many fellow bros, and also nonetheless the unpleasant ones like this one just mentioned here.

Do visit the recommended places be it KTVs or HCs hence it's been patronised by fellow bros, so it would be pretty secure and sound places. Indeed Shanghai is a metropolitan city yet still this is China so con scams and danger still lurked around for the unwary ones.....

Bro, it is not exactly a rip off, I would rather put it as money not well spent. Wisdom Sauna is RMB988 per pax, some food and drinks included but all other additional services are excluded such as the foot massage. Foot massage are additonal at RMB200++ per round and if HJ is included then it is charge as another round hence the exorbitant bill when settling. So the see before you sign does not apply here but rather ask before you buy will be more appropriate.

One more thing, being in China, make it a point to ask before committing to avoid any discrepancies. Else people will take you for a ride. Many bros being first time here dare not ask because worrying "lose face" but then again, on the other end of the scale is "brunt pocket". So you go figure which is more important....face or pocket.

yr story is not new, general rule to follow, dont follow touts, dont ask taxi drivers for recommendations, AND DONT BELEIVE THEM IF THEY TELL U GOT YOUNG PRETTY UNI STUDENT FOR RMB10 TIPS!!!

if u already kena by following them, dont panic, dont appear frightened by them, act tough n tell them calmly u will call 110, try to take receipt n call 110 after u leave the shop, u shld recover part of your bill but be prepared maybe other people who u dont wan to know this will know wat happened...

but nowadays i got try following touts b4 to verify if it is true i also tekan the tout n wriggle my way out harmlessly!

but aiya, for newbies in china, best is dont bring your credit card out n just bring like 1~2K rmb cash it shld be enough wat if u r going out for adventure... there's nothing much the black shops can do...

Bro , prepare at least 300 for the girl and do nothing there.......... the room is pretty expensive... 1k-2k per person normally for 2-3 person

I went Di Hao with colleagues last month and the gals we had are not the playful type..tip for gal is RMB 300 / 500 (model type)..minimum spending for small room is RMB 880...the rest expenses settled by colleagues so not sure how much...

Honestly not worthwhile going to such KTV joints where the gals simply sit beside us, doing nothing, cannot touch, cannot drink abit, etc. Boring!
After been to KTV joints like Golden Pinochio aka Golden Globe KTV on Yan An Xi rd, where the gals simply are so much fun to be with strip till their g-strings & topless, all for the same price as these 'high-class' wanna-be places....I personally find that paying the same amount yet having all the fun in it is more worth my money spent.
