I do not understand why the Europa League final is played on a weekday and in such a small stadium.

Friday evening or weekend would be better. UEFA has bad planning.

Origi is fit and flew out to Basel last night together with the rest of the Liverpool squad.

Looks like Origi and Henderson shall be on the bench tomorrow night.

It was on purpose that the Europa Final is scheduled on a weekday as it is not supposed to be more prominent than the Champions League Final which is on the weekend.

The reason this EL final attracted so much attention is due to the fact Liverpool is playing! If it's Shaktar vs Villarreal for EL final, nobody will be bothered to watch or even care about the results except their own fans.

Absolutely right!

UEFA was asked why this final is being played at such a small stadium, particularly given the huge demand for tickets from the Liverpool supporters. Its reply was that previous finals could not fill big stadiums.

Also I gather Sevilla only took up 7,000 odd tickets of the 10,000 plus on offer, whereas the Reds took their whole lot and are desperately scrambling for more, probably even as I am writing this post!

40,000 Liverpool supporters are expected to make their way to Basel even if they do not have any tickets. They will be supporting the Reds on the streets and pubs and stadium vicinity..... lol

But Champion League also used to be played on Wedneday evenings. Even though now switched to weekend, wished they had also switched the timing to our timing, I think like that can capture a bigger share of the Asia market.

This would be labelled as a lame excuse by UEFA who are equally corrupted as FIFA. Individuals who are motivated by greed and not passion for the game.
