"dong" is just like our singlish "leh", and "aja or saja" is just like singlish "lor"....both "dong & "aja" is a indo slang to add after a sentences like our singlish leh, lor, lah etc.

Dong doesn't mean a damn thing. It's just something they throw at the end of almost anything to try to sound cool. Exactly like Singaporeans always saying "lah" at the end of everything they say.

Nanti aja means the exact same thing as nanti. "aja" means only. So it's kind of like when Indians say things like "the price is 100 dollars only". In reality, there's no need to say only at the end.

New bars at PJ

If you head to PJ, please realize that there are 2 streets going in. Both end up at the parking lot and have bars lined up.

There are now 3 new bars besides the original 4. The first is Starmoon. You have to go upstairs. They still have a fishbowl. The other bars tore theirs out. IIRC, the green tags are the standard girls and the red tags are the FLs.

The next one is Mega Ayu on the other road. I think I was quoted 710k there.

The newest one is called V-Four. It faces directly onto PJ. You have to enter all the way to the back, then proceed up the stairs. They have a live band playing. The girls sit on bleachers in the back corner. It’s like a fishbowl but without the glass sides. The ones on the top bench are 350k, the girls on the bottom bench are 400 and there are 2 models for 500. There aren’t many girls yet.

You should check out all the bars while you’re here. There’s no cover charge or minimum.

They stopped employing sexy dancers, so there’s no reason to linger here unless you want to drink with one of the girls.

The ranking of the bars changes with time, but Starmoon is not one of the better ones. I stopped going there.

There’s one bar that seems to be particularly hot right now. Will have to explore it some more.

If you decide to pull the trigger on a girl, here are 2 suggestions when it comes to time to pay.

Always ask for a receipt. They may say no have, but that's BS. The receipt will show the true price, the time, the girl's name and number, the MM's name in case you have any problems with the girl, the room number and the name of the bar.

Never use a credit card.

Once I asked the MM how much, she said 400k, I thought maybe the price went up. When I insisted on a receipt, she knew her game was up. She reluctantly handed me my receipt and 10k change.

Once I used my CC. Some days later, got a call from the bank saying someone was making like US$1000 charges on my cc. The bank cancelled my card and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to pay my room bill. I was also left with no way to charge anything until I returned to Bangkok and got a replacement card.

I will admit I have not been there often lately because there are places I like better these days, so it has been a while since I have used my card there. However, I've been going there for over 20 years (among many other places in Jakarta). I have used my credit card many times and never had any problem. In all my years in Jakarta, no place anywhere in town has ever scammed my credit card.

Your savings of 10k makes me laugh. How cheap are you anyway? Who gives a shit about 10k? That's like 20 baht. Let the mamasan keep that as a tip. I always walk up to the cashier anyway, they give me the receipt and I pay based on that. I then normally give the 10 or 20 k change to the mamasan. Here's a bit of advice. Don't fuck around in that little area. It's not as safe as the places like Hotel Classic. In that area, tip the mamasans and tip the security guys too on occasion. There is a mafia element in that kota indah area and you will be well served to have the staff on your side.

It is always better to be safe than sorry, especially as a foreigner with no ability to speak the language, I'm sure he's not complaining just due to the 10k, but asking for the shop's integrity instead
