Wifi / 3G huawei dongles are aplenty, sometimes if power in the country is not stable, you have erratic connections - laying cables is expensive...

It is based on company policy and personal interest: if you have done backpacking, adventure sports and travelling to exotic countries, knowing what is essential is important. Yes bro, travel in groups and do not stop at junctions with or without traffic lights... I have a business friend from Australia who has a Ugandan girlfriend. She is a slim model who appears in their major Telco's billboard adverts. He often goes there and besides Kampala also traveled inland to other towns. If as bros say that your yellow skin stands out then what about white skin? It stands out even more. He never visits Kampala with any security also. There are tons of expats living in Kampala. Crimes happen everywhere. I was surrounded by 5 men and extorted money from me in Changping which a small touristy town in "safe" China. So crimes can happen anywhere.
I personally lived in Uganda's neighboring country for 8 years. It's not all that bad as people make it sound. My advise will be :
1. Avoid drinking water from tap like here in Sg. Stick to bottled water. Brushing teeth with hotel's tap water is fine. Most damage (diarrhea, upset stomach etc.) is done by water that goes to your stomach.
2. Go out to enjoy your evenings in a nearby restaurant/bar and head home by 9 or 9:30 PM max. There are several pubs that expats hang out in and should be safe.
3. When going out e.g. for shopping, just go with a colleague wherever you go or your escorted driver, that's sufficient.

African working women dress smartly in tight skirts, long pants or dresses. At home they wear bright long dresses with bloated sleeves.

Unless you go to the really ulu ulu interior villages with very poor people, then you may find someone like that.

In fact after staying there a while, you'll actually start liking some of the women. There are some Ugandans who have some sort of mixed blood with Arabs, stay in colder places etc. These women have nice bodies, tight figure and a very light brown skin. A few can be very attractive and sexy looking.

I do travel to West Africa about 2-3 times a year. Longest I've stayed is about 2 months. I recently just came back from there. Was there for 2 weeks.

Some do's & dont's (Depends on the country you go to)

Do's:
1.Check with local contacts on security levels of the city you are in. If it is not safe, always wait for your local contact to pick you from the Hotel or Apartment you are staying in.
2.Bottled water to quench your thirst.
3.Eat & drink only in restaurants & bars. Especially those that your local contacts tell you about or bring you to.
4.Carry your passport & cash with you where ever you go. but be smart not to carry too much. I usually will take about 3 days money from my local contact every time I need and credit back to them once I return from there.

Dont's:
1.Forget about looking for a girl to release your army. Just look and don't touch. Unless you got a wonder drug to cure all the sex related illnesses. (The 2 months I was there, porn i downloaded & my hand was my best friend)
2.Never take anything from anyone on the street.
3.Don't flash the money and your phones.
4.Don't get drunk outside of the hotel or apartment you are staying in.
