Bro SKILLFULL LICK, next time when you paste the news articles, mind quoting the source too, so I know where it comes from (and thus, whether to trust the news or not)? 谢谢你

Ok thats how i thought...There is a possibility, reason being: 1)After 4 seasons working together, both still cant see eyes to eyes 2)Currently we are in the period of financial crisis, and the club really in need of cash to strengthen the team 4 next season, considering that we are the top spender this season with the total spending ard 70m pounds++,so im just wondering how much money will be cater for this summer? 3)SG current contract will be due on summer 2011,and he will be turning 28th this comming may(28th as a player should be at the peak of his career),if he is for sales, lots of club will be willing to come out with good price..40m+ pounds maybe..enough 4 the club to bring in 2 worldclass signing 3)If both party(SG&LFC)really share the common vision,so far there is still no news of new contract talk..not even in tabloids, totally silence.. 4)Of course all this will surely not happen if A)new strong investors come in B)change of manager which he manage to convince Stevie G that his future is in Liverpool.. No problem bro..the above news is from The Sunday Mail..I get it from another LFC forum. But the news that i posted here is not totally impossible..cos i've already cencor lots of crazy news...eg sometime back "LFC keen on Andrea Pirlo"...

Liverpool owners reject £400m DIC takeover
Liverpool co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have rejected Dubai International Capital's £400million bid for the Premier League club. The offer, which would represent a £25million profit for each of the American tycoons, was immediately turned down, an associate involved with the negotiations revealed. He spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation. The source also suggests that Hicks had not formally rejected the offer but has made it very clear that he is unwilling to sell his share in the club. Hicks is committed to retaining his 50 percent share in Liverpool while Gillett is reportedly willing to sell. Hicks has said he can block Gillett from selling his stake. Although no formal statement is expected from Hicks, his stance remains the same as last month, when he said: 'Reports that I am about to sell my stake in the Liverpool Football Club, or to invite DIC to examine the club's books in preparation for such a sale - like other such reports planted in the UK press in recent weeks by parties with their own self-interested agenda - are absolutely and categorically false. 'The reality is that I am personally, professionally and financially committed to the club and its supporters and I will continue to honour that commitment to the best of my ability now and in the future.' The American duo bought the club last year for approximately £218m - beating a rival bid from the Dubai consortium. Don't know whether this is good or bad....

Fans cautious over DIC bid
Liverpool supporters expected to protest at US owners Last updated: 5th March 2008 Liverpool fans have given a cautious welcome to Dubai International Capital's takeover bid, urging their American owners to accept the offer. Supporters are expected to express their dissent towards the regime of George Gillett and Tom Hicks during Wednesday's Barclays Premier League match with West Ham. Neil Atkinson, spokesperson for the Liverpool Supporters Union 'Spirit of Shankly', told the Daily Telegraph: "Should DIC make their way into the club, they should be welcomed with caution - they may or may not have the best interests of the club at heart." Atkinson listed a number of perceived injustices by the current Liverpool owners - including delays in the construction of a new stadium and holding talks with Jurgen Klinsmann - before adding: "(DIC chief executive Sameer) al-Ansari talks about Tom Hicks' valuation of the club being 'in dreamland'. Mr Hicks is further in dreamland if he thinks he will ever be accepted at LFC. "If he tries to grin and bear it then it emphasises what we already know - he's only in it for one reason: the money and the money alone. "I'm sure Liverpool supporters will make their feelings known at the West Ham game - let Mr Hicks and Mr Gillett go now with their profit. "Let us start again with new owners, keep our eyes open and work with them within our heritage and tradition." Liverpool co-owner Hicks says he has not formally rejected DIC's reported offer for the club but remains unwilling to sell his stake, according to a source close to the American. It is understood that DIC made an offer for fellow owner George Gillett's 50% share in the club on Tuesday, which was extended to Hicks. But associates of Hicks have reiterated the stance made public at the end of last month when he vehemently denied that his stake was up for sale. Despite reports that DIC are willing to pay ?00million for the Merseysiders, handing Hicks and Gillett a profit of ?5million each, and take on all of the club's debt, Hicks' position appears as entrenched as ever. He remains unwilling to deal with any parties who would ask him to accept anything other than majority shareholder status, and retains the ability to veto any sale of Gillett's stake. SKY SPORTS

I would be cautious too, as bringing in a new owner will bring in uncertainty. We will never know if it's a good or bad move. I guess most of us also didn't expect things to turn out like this when the Americans first took over Liverpool as owners?

If Liverpool really ends up with DIC, I really hope we don't become like another Chelsea (no offence to them) as I feel they won't take 2nd place as a result. Worse off right now, we are struggling to even reach 4th place (which I feel, in the end we will ) and I foresee them making very big overhauls with the current squad and management.
