I have been 'tricked' into giving more money for whatever claimed reason or to get an old gf to return to SG faster (she never came), but each time I always viewed it as a fundamentally economic relnship, even when I really liked her. From that basis, I don't ask who else is she with, and I tell myself if she has someone else, ok. I never agree to get her her own flat, though I have helped w/ rent at times. Control your expectations and at best, you are pleasantly surprised, at worst, you dump her.

And certainly I always cheong w/in budget. For instance, when I supported a singer, I basically 'advanced' my extra cheonging money from future months, and otherwise spent less on my other toys (eg don't upgrade handphone), and when she left, I stayed away from HFJs and KTVs for a short bit to make up for the extra burn rate

As another bro pointed out, most PRCs have spent 000s to get here, so naturally they need to squeeze as much out of the stay as possible. I think you can get GFE effect, even if you remain sceptical of what they tell you

So keep on keeping a gf on the side if you can, just control your heart and you wont be cheated or terribly hurt. Good luck to all!
