Re: Hotels in Bangkok

Sukhumvit -if not on budget, try Royal President (soi 15). Am a regular there monthly. Between bt1700 (for standard) -2100 (deluxe). Bt2100 gets you Sapphire suite Court Wing (discreet entrance, away from main lobby). Between Asoke and Nana BTS. Try this reliable site (part of big Diethelm group) -can swing in breakfast, not big deal

Re: Hotels in Bangkok

if u have no problem with budget, The Westin Grande Sukhumvit between Soi 17 & 19 is a very good choice.
Beside gal friendly, location is good too.
just in front of the BTS.

Just to share my experience and (painful) research on hotels with fellow samsters: Even Zuji (except for airticket maybe) and Wotif sucks. Choose wisely reliable site -security (credit card), hidden costs (not nett of taxes, surcharge), changes/cancellations/refunds, bad exch rates. Local sin travel agent hotel packages not competitive (single/twin crap). For LOS, you can also try this Bkk site with useful maps/locations (like Ratch, Suk etc), pics:

www.directrooms.com

Enjoy, jump on your chosen one (kiss and tell on FR..)

Re: Hotels in Bangkok

Just like to share my experience...just came back from BKK.

Don't ever stay at Miami Hotel, at Sukhumvit, the place is filthy!!! it has loads of roaches and mosquitos. But it is very cheap at 750 baht/night, gal-frenly and near the nana BTS.

The Siam City Hotel is a very nice plc, with Sauna, steam bath (nt wrking when i was there), ok pool with health club. But it could be a nice plc, coz i stayed at the hell-hole of a plc (Miami Hotel) for 2 nites. Anyway it was a lil steep at 3800 baht coz i booked it just the nite before. Its much cheaper if u pre-booked the plc at least 3 nites in advance. The hotel is within walking distance to Phaya Thai BTS.

cheers...

While you were staying in Siam City Hotel, did you visit CP2 or J1 ? They are steps away from this hotel....a 5-10 minute walk and can't miss it.

A bath in CP2 with a Thai pooying is far better than a solo sauna or steam bath in the hotel.

A bath with any puying anyway definitely will be better than solo sauna or stream bath. No need CP2, even in Hotel bath tub is good.

Zuji and especially Wotif target corporate travellers....so not good for budget travellers. Prefer asiarooms and precisionreservations.

R U sure.... I would prefer solo in hotel rather than with CP2 puying as CP2 sucks. CP2 is one of my blacklisted MPs.
