Macedonia sack Mirsad Jonuz

Mirsad Jonuz has been sacked as the coach of Macedonia, the country's football federation has announced.

A statement on the FFM's website confirmed Jonuz was removed fr his post as a result of their poor Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.

''Following extensive discussions regarding results achieved in qualifying 4 the 2012 European Championship, a unanimous decision has been reached 2 remove Mirsad Jonuz from his position as the coach of the national team,'' said the statement.

The FFM added they will hold another meeting soon 2 find Jonuz's successor. Macedonia lie 5th in qualifying Group B with jz 4 points following successive defeats 2 Republic of Ireland.

With 6 games played so far, Macedonia only managed a win,a draw & 4 defeats. They scored 5 goals & concede 8 goals.
With 4 games remaining 2 be play,mathematically they still hv a chance 2 progress.

Keane said: "Every game is a must-win game, especially @ tis stage, becos where we r now, it's important we don't lose any games now.

"These 2 games r the 2 toughest tat we could face. We go in2 every game wanting 2 win, so it will be no different 2morrow, & we will certainly not go in2 the game thinking abt Russia or the games aft.

"We r concentrated on 2morrow & focussed on getting 3 points, tat's our main aim."

Ireland drew 1-1 in Slovakia 4 days aft their disappointment against Russia, although Keane had a penalty saved in Zilina as 2 precious points slipped away.

But while they know the face a tough test 1s again, they r confident tat they can emerge victorious aft a run of 4 wins & a draw in their last 5 games.

Keane, who will be partnered up front by Shane Long rather than Kevin Doyle, said: "The performance was really good over there. We dominated most of the game, so we will be looking 2 do the same 2morrow.

"We will put pressure on ourselves 2 do the same as we did over there & obviously get the 3 points, which is wat we r looking 4."
