I agree looks not an important factor + you needa be ready to spend and got lotsa time. Actually being Singaporeans quite disadvantage cos majority of people in BT knows Singaporeans go BT kio kway one. The most important thing is ---> You dunno how to speak their language and its your first time there. Then the gal will at least feel safe cos you never kio kway there before. Imagine you go out jalan jalan with your gal, then see one kway lookalike cewek waving and calling out to you: "abang, gua XXXX. Ingat gua?" ... Your gal sure sibei malu one + you can forget about mingle with the local chinese community there anymore.
Another way is to have business or work dealings with companies over there. That'll certainly make you stand out from the rest
