no offence, but tried Watana once b4 when could not get rooms coming straight from airport... Next day could not wait to get out of the room.... IMHO, room is quite poor condition.
Only advantage is it is very near Poseidon, Copabana and in centre of action. Can get better rooms via internet for <1000b at Siam Beverly, First, Classic Place, A-One..

Point is if you rush, you can end up getting disappointed. Also time afternoon time 2-6pm is also low stocks period when the angpais are still in bed or preening away in some hair salons or shopping.
Other quality MPs for "model" types, you can consider that is not so far away are
Long Beach (Phram9 opposite RCA)
Amsterdam (formerly Champs Elysees....near Fortune Hotel on Ratchada. Amsterdam is slightly more expensive than Poseidon but U do get gems.
ACMilan

Thanks for your comment. Yes, 2hr is short and I may extend that a little bit and get my colleagues disappointed. Who cares...

I tried Long Beach before, got a very young Thai girl who, surprisingly, provided very good service. I went back for my 2nd time and I had never been disappointed. I found the room quite OK. For Amsterdam, I had not tried it and I would possibly give it a try. Is it next to Fortune hotel (within walking distance)? Is the model comparable to those at Caesar and Poseidon?

Thanks.

Hi Denny,

Not really, it is still Fortune except it has "Mercure" (Mercure Fortune) added in front since it joined the Accor Mercure group. Most taxi drivers still know it as Fortune better.
U R rite that Amsterdam is overpriced but some gems and ambience much better and less crowded
