One day she came to me with a letter to explain the contents to her as she is English illiterate. It was a letter from the government seeking clarification as apparently she had gone to the CC and applied for some PG benefits and submitt her details in the form as unemployed. It turned out her son had "employed" her as an administrative assistant in his company for the past 4 years..... without her knowledge and without her having to go to work at all.

It is common knowledge of such abuse. But the gov is keeping quiet becos it adds on to their employment figures, n give more to their cpf, plus it increases the number of companies who can hire cheap labour.

son probably need to hit local employed staff quota before can hire foreign staff...very common tactics used by local SME...
