We need to win something this season - been such a long drought since our two penalty shootout cup wins. The cups are the way to regaining our confidence and becoming a force once again.

Anyone knows if we win the League cup, will we get a Europa League spot for next year? Winning the league cup is a small step forward under the new owners. Help us to recruit better players and to convince the owners to release more transfer funds too.

With the way Man City is playing now, I think it's possible to catch up with them for a CL spot, especially with 18 matches remaining.

League cup if not wrong will get a spot in the UEFA cup. Man City will definitely come out all guns blazing, that should suit Liverpool best since a few teams has already shown that City weakness is in defending when under counter attack.

Not too sure about that. I think they need to face Spurs in the league 3 days before the match right? With their so called paper thin squad, I think Mancini may need to decide which one to give up. Does he try on all fronts and end up with no silverware? Does he win the FA cup last year and settle for the League Cup this year (feels like a downgrade right)? Or does he give up the league cup to focus on winning the league? I hope he focuses on the league. If he wins it, he will be remembered forever.

Confirm winning League cup will get a UEFA slot...Man C will not want to win the League cup...is not their priority this season...

Agree with bro Hurricane think winning the BPL will be more prestigious then the League cup. With both the scums and Spurs breathing down his team neck, doubt if he can afford to slip up at this point of time.

1. Premier League (be in Champions League also priority)
2. Europa Cup
3. League Cup

so you see League Cup is 3rd choice...being in Champions League will be their priority too...

Nah, I think Man City was really trying to win it in the first leg, especially since it's home ground for them. However, after losing the first leg, coupled with the injuries and absentees from African Nations Cup and the tight situation in the BPL, I think they might focus on the BPL instead.

The away goal rule counts in the League Cup right? Our away goal might proved useful in the 2nd leg. Stoke City tonight. Andy Carroll 2 - Stoke City 0.
