An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

Men who led police Evo on 240km/h chase fined RM100


SEPANG: Three men were fined RM300 by the Sessions Court here today for swearing at police officers who were carrying out their duties on Monday.

Timber wholesaler V.Vegneswaran, 33, gardener N. Jega Thesan and legal firm worker A. Jaiprakash both 32 pleaded guilty to the charge before Sessions Court judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim.

They were jointly charged with using vulgar words against police officer Mohd Akhbar Jusoh, 36, and other officers who were on duty at that time.

They were accused of committing the offence along the highway after the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Serdang toll here at about 4am on Oct 6.

The trio who were unrepresented pleaded for a minimum fine as they have to support their family.

Hafizah then fined each of them RM100.

According to the case facts, at the time of the incident, the trio had uttered swear words and spitted at the police officers who were carrying out their duties.

Meanwhile, Vegneswaran faced another charge of obstructing the same police officer who was on duty by not stopping his car when he was ordered to do so.

He was alleged with committing the offence near the Seremban-Kuala Lumpur highway, Datuk Abu Bakar Baginda here at 3.20am on the same day.

In mitigating for a minimum bail, the accused said that he has a brother who is suffering from kidney failure to support.

Hafizah then granted bail at RM8,000 with two sureties and fixed Nov 5 for mention.

Deputy public prosecutors Ungku Alfiati Zabeidah Ungku Ismail and B.Uma Devi prosecuted.
